Today was my upper GI. The radiologist confirmed there is some esophageal dilation and his recommendation is no more tightening of the band.
So the truth is out there now. I am a confirmed Lap-Band failure. Not sure what my next move is as I won't follow up with the bariatric specialist until next week sometime. If revision is recommended, I may look back at Johns Hopkins as I'm not sure I want this particular practice cutting on me. The hospital they are affiliated with doesn't have the greatest reputation around here for one, and secondly, I'm not sure they offer the procedure I'm currently considering.
*sigh*
I am sorry that you have a problem with the band. I hope your doctor can work with you and get it sorted out without you having to be operated on!!
ReplyDeleteAww sorry to hear you are having issues....
ReplyDeleteugh!!! I am so sorry to hear this.. hang in there
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. At least you have confirmation. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHello D,
ReplyDeleteI'm just getting back into reading all my blogs after a really long time and I see you and lots of others have had complications like me. My band has sprung a leak and I'm considering revision to a sleeve. I wondered if you'd update us on how you've gone on since your complications? Would like to know if you did get a revision and how it's gone for you. It'd really help to hear other peoples stories as there seem to be so many bandsters two and three years out with complications I really don't feel like getting my band replaced is the best option. I hope things are going well for you now. x
